Your Right to be Free from Abuse and Neglect

You have the right not to be physically, sexually or otherwise abused.  Sexual harassment is also considered abuse.  You also have the right not to be neglected.  If you have been abused or neglected, or suspect someone else has been, you should report it right away to a staff person or to someone else you trust.  You should also report it to the Office of Recipient Rights.

If you have questions about your right to be free from abuse and neglect, contact the Office of Recipient Rights at the Detroit Wayne County Community Mental Health Agency at 313-833-2500 or The Arc of Western Wayne County at 734-729-9100.
