The Arc of Western Wayne County believes that people with disabilities should be respected as individuals with the same opportunities as all other citizens. We also believe that people with disabilities should have the right to a full range of supports, which promote control, personal choice, and self-determination in all areas of their lives.

The Arc of Western Wayne County advocates for the rights and full participation of all children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

With a vision of commitment to Advocacy, Resources and Community Awareness for people with disabilities, The Arc of Western Wayne County strives to:

• provide effective advocacy to meet the changing needs of people with developmental disabilities and their families in the community;
• influence the awareness and attitudes of the community about people with disabilities and our organization; and
• increase collaboration with other agencies in order to maintain our flexibility and influence in the community.
