Respite

Respite Care means short term or temporary care that is provided to you when your family is not available to assist you with your every day needs.  If your family is going on vacation, you can hire someone to come into your home during that time or you can go to a respite care center.  You can also go to the home of a friend or relative and pay them to provide respite services for you.

In Wayne County, respite services are part of the service array offered through The Detroit Wayne County Community Mental Health agency.

If you have questions about respite care, you can call The Detroit Wayne County Community Mental Health Agency Customer Service Department at 888-490-9698.
