Related Services
According to the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act, related services are transportation, and any developmental, corrective or supportive services which are required to assist a student to benefit from special education.
Related services also include
- Speech language pathology, audiology services, and interpreting services;
- Psychological and counseling services, including rehabilitation counseling, orientation and mobility services;
- Physical therapy and occupational therapy;
- Recreation, including therapeutic recreation, for example music and art therapy;
- Early identification and assessment of students birth through school age;
- Medical services for the purpose of diagnosis or evaluation;
- School health services;
- Social nurse services;
- School social work services;
- Parent counseling and or training as it relates to their child’s disability;
