Nursing and Rehabilitation Centers

Nursing and Rehabilitation Centers provide room and board, personal care, supervision, and medical care.  They are licensed and regulated by the state and by the Department of Public Health.

A variety of payments are accepted by different centers, such as Medicaid, Medicare, private insurance, and private pay.

Three levels of care are provided.

  • Basic Care assists with an individual’s activities of daily living like meal preparation, bathing, and grooming;
  • Skilled Care requires the supervision of a skilled nurse on a regular basis to address medical needs; and
  • Sub-Acute Care is comprehensive inpatient care for an individual who has an acute illness, injury, or a disease.
