Michigan Department of Human Services

The Michigan Department of Human Services, or DHS, helps individuals and families meet financial, medical, and social needs and assists people in becoming self-sufficient. The Michigan Department of Human Services, formerly The Family Independence Agency, also helps protect children and adults from abuse, neglect, and exploitation. The Michigan Department of Human Services administrative office is in Lansing. There is at least one DHS office in each county. There are 34 offices in Wayne County. You can call any one and they will direct you to your correct local office.
