The Mental Health Association in Michigan is a voluntary membership citizens' organization representing a broad base of people working together as an advocate for the mentally ill.

The Association maintains a strictly bipartisan posture in its social action and public policy efforts. The basic purposes toward which the Association works are:

  • Improved care and treatment of the mentally ill;
  • Prevention of mental illness; and
  • Promotion of positive mental health.

The Mental Health Association in Michigan is the only statewide, non-governmental agency concerned with the broad spectrum of mental illness across all age groups. The foundation of their efforts is citizen involvement.
