Long Term Care Ombudsman

The Ombudsman provides assistance to residents of long term care facilities.  They help resolve complaints and provide information about rights and rules.  They also make referrals to community resources.  The Ombudsman can provide assistance to residents in Long Term Care facilities and their families regarding placement, financing, and options.

The Long Term Care Ombudsman can be reached by contacting one of the following agencies.

  • Citizens for Better Care at 800-833-9548, or 313-832-6387. You can also visit them online at www.cbcmi.org.
  • The State Long-Term Care Ombudsman at 866-485-9393 and your call will be routed to the program in your region.
  • State Licensing, The Department of Community Health, Bureau of Health Systems Complaint Investigation Unit at 517-241-2626.
