Inpatient Behavioral Health Services

Inpatient behavioral health services provide short term care for people with mental illness who are not responsive to outpatient care.  Twenty-four hour supervision is provided to people who may harm themselves or others.

The inpatient behavioral health team may consist of nurses, psychologists, occupational therapist, social worker and a counselor.  Most of the treatment is offered in a group setting, and may consist of family support, group therapy, medication education, relaxation therapy, stress management and discharge planning.  Individual therapy is also provided if needed.

For more information, please contact The National Alliance for the Mentally Ill Michigan at 800-331-4264, or visit them online at namimi.org.  You can also contact The Detroit Wayne County Community Mental Health Agency at 313-833-2500, or visit them online at www.dwccmha.com.
