Independent Facilitation of Person Centered Plans

A facilitator is the person who leads you and your circle of support through the person centered planning process. You can choose anyone you want to facilitate your meeting. The facilitator gets people motivated to share ideas and should involve you and make sure that you understand what is being said at your meeting.

The facilitator must be a good listener, check understanding regularly, observe themes, and guard against immediate or old solutions.  He or she prepares for the meeting, maintains focus and redirects concerns unrelated to the plan development.

If you are unsure who you would like to facilitate your Person Centered Planning meeting, you should talk with your supports coordinator or personal agent.  You can also call The Arc at 734-729-9100 for more information.
