Friendly Reassurance

The Friendly Reassurance Program provides for regular telephone contacts or home visits with homebound older persons to assure their well-being and safety and to provide social interaction. Calls are usually made Monday through Friday. Reassurance programs may also be called Telephone Reassurance or Tele-Care programs.

Many communities not listed below operate their own Reassurance program. Contact your local senior center for more information.

The Wayne County Senior Citizens Services can be reached by calling 734-727-7374, or 734-727-7375.  Their service areas are Belleville, Canton Township, Garden City, Huron Township, Inkster, Plymouth, Plymouth Township, Romulus, Sumpter Township, Van Buren Township, and Westland. 

Retired and Senior Volunteer Program, or RSVP, can be reached by calling 313-278-7796, and their service area is all of Wayne County.
